What goes into the day's reading
- Moon phase — new, waxing, full, waning. Each phase has its own quality, and the cycle repeats every ~29 days.
- Moon sign — which zodiac sign the moon is traveling through. The moon changes signs every 2-3 days, which is why some weeks feel different from others.
- Sun sign — which zodiac sign the sun is in. This shifts roughly monthly and sets the broader season's tone.
- Major aspects — when planets form significant angles to each other (e.g. a Mars-Saturn square). These are the "weather fronts" of astrology.
- Retrogrades — when a planet appears to move backward, which traditionally calls for review and reflection in that planet's domain.
